3C Community Church goes with the flow: Canoe Club launched

Fast-growing 3C Community Church has launched its own Canoe Club. The Cam-based church, which incorporates the Pulse Youth Church, started the club after a recent national Christian canoeing weekend proved a hit with the church’s members.

Senior Elder, Rev Noel Fellowes, said: “We now have four canoeing instructors in the church and canoeing is a great attraction for young people and families, so we are delighted to be taking to the water with our own club!” The 3C Canoe Club meets regularly at various local sites, but is also planning a number of special events in more remote locations. The club has access to nine kayaks, four open canoes and other equipment.

Anyone interested in joining the club should contact club leaders Ed and Sue Humphreys, who are British Canoe Union-qualified instructors, on 01453 890474, or

“We’re happy to consider applications from people of all ages and all abilities, including beginners – even if they don’t belong to the church,” said Ed. “People are welcome to come along and try it out for a week or two. All we ask is that newcomers contact us in advance, so that we can look out for them and also plan how much equipment we need to take along.”
