PRESS RELEASE:
Summer in Dursley! - The Big Tent Event

The countdown has begun to The Big Tent Event - a four-day family festival for Cam and Dursley organised by 3C Community Church.

The Big Tent Event, from Thursday 15th to Sunday 18th July, takes place in and around a giant marquee on Dursley Recreation Ground and is being run in partnership with Dursley Festival (Saturday 17th July).

Attractions at The Big Tent Event (www.thebigtentevent.org) include live music, an interactive, multi-media youth night, a team quiz night and a picnic and family games on the Rec.

Rev Noel Fellowes, of 3C, said: "We're really excited about The Big Tent Event. We've put together a great programme for people of all ages. We're also very pleased to be serving the community by working in partnership with Dursley Festival."

Final details of the programme for The Big Tent Event have yet to be announced. Items confirmed to date are:

  • Friday evening, 16th: Youth Mix: Icon TV (an interactive show from British Youth for Christ) and electro-punk/rock from On Off Switch

The Big Tent Event is the second summer festival on Dursley Rec organised by 3C Community Church (The first, called Y3C, took place in September 2008). The church, based in Church Road, Cam, was formed in June 2008 by the merger of two churches, Cam Congregational Church and Cotswold Community Church.
